Clips & Feeds Storage

Storage

EVS offers scalable and expandable storage solutions perfectly tailored to workflow and budget requirements. Clips, playlists, highlights, as well as live ingested feeds or camera angles, can be stored on multiple platform systems integrated to the XT[2]+ production server and controlled by a series of software applications.

XT[2]+ servers can be clustered together to form a central media repository storing almost limitless quantities of material whilst maintaining the ability to bring footage to air instantly. Storage systems external to the XT[2]+ include online storage, nearline storage and removable hard drive disk storage.

Benefits

  • Reliable and secure

For more than a decade EVS has delivered the industry’s most reliable and secure storage solutions. Developed from our experience in the dynamic sports broadcast environment our systems run day-in and day-out in the most mission-critical broadcast situations.

  • Hot-swappable redundant power supplies

Completely fault tolerant system with RAID security ensuring seamless continuation of the live broadcast.

  • Adaptable storage architectures

EVS’ storage architectures can be configured for any size of operation or number of venues. In-built removable hard drives enhance flexibility.

  • Full networking integrates workflow

Boasting faster than real-time media transfer via the XNet network, EVS storage solutions fully realise the potential of tapeless production.

  • Clip compilation

As soon as clips are recorded to the XT[2]+ server they are instantly available to any operator throughout the network for blazing fast build of replay action, highlights and analysis packages.

  • Export media

Faster than real time media transfer from XT[2]+ servers onto removable disks (XFile[2]), near line storage server (XStore[2]) or offline storage via Gigabit Ethernet

  • All content available all of the time

Any video or audio source, recorded by any XT[2]+ server on the network, is instantly available to all operators, without interrupting the live feeds.

  • Automatic background archiving

Faster than real time media transfer from XT[2]+ servers onto removable disks (XF[2]) or near line storage server (XStore[2]).

  • MXF metadata management

Each clip is automatically saved as a separate file on the XFile's removable drive. Video, audio, time code information as well as other metadata (clip name, clip rating, keywords, LSM ID, creation date, etc) are wrapped into the MXF file format.

  • XNet content backup and restore

In case of accidental deletion of clips, or if a server needs to be removed from the system before the end of the production, clips can be restored swiftly onto any other server on the network.

  • Native support for Super Motion

All Super Motion clips are stored on any networked XT[2]+ server with shots restored in a single pass without alteration. Maintain native quality of all content for post production and craft editing

  • Automatic backup

Fully automatic backup of all live audio visual feeds ingested on the XT[2]+ , on the XF[2] removable hard disk drives.
