XT[2] Multicam 9 is the 1st software version to be compatible only with XT[2] servers because of a structural change in both the software and the recorded files. Most of the new features included within Multicam 9 are for set-up and monitoring but there are a few very worthwhile operational enhancements such as:
- New Date and Timecode Management – Two timecode sources can now be recorded per input and a user can choose which TC source to be displayed and also be searched on.
- Playback of growing clips - Clips can now be played while they are being created, moved, copied, or restored.
- Gigabit connection - clips can be transferred between systems using the gigabit connection.
- Apple ProRes 422 and Apple ProRes 422 HQ codec - Allows direct transfer of native files.

IPDirector
is an integrated suite of software allowing to control the XT[2] production servers in any type of production environment. The system is optimized to manage all audio/video content available on any XT servers. It includes the ingest, the metadata management, the search, the editing, and the playout on the production network.
Currently IPDirector has become known for its use on major sporting events production, where the system is fully deployed, using all aspects of the package over many workstations and at all stages of the production process. However, in the most basic use of IPDirector one workstation can control play or record channels of one or many XT Servers. It can perform all the functionality of the dedicated remote panel, but offers the user a friendly Windows based graphical user interface. IPDirector’s new features include: - the Play-list Editor for advanced Play-lists creation
- new tabs in the Control Panel:
- for rapid simple clip-list build
- to add more metadata to each clip created and protect the clip from within IPDirector.

XFile software now includes the streaming module software as an integrated feature. This allows recordings being made on XT servers to be streamed directly to Non Linear Editors as they are being recorded.
Other new features: - restore of EVS MXF 2MB and EVS MXF 8MB Files
- Apple ProRes 422 codec is now supprted
- Mirroring mode is now possible in all formats
