Dynamic and creative R&D keeps EVS at the leading edge of broadcast technology and enables strategic diversifications towards other areas within the professional audiovisual market.  More than 60 per cent of EVS staff works in our research and development departments.

EVS’ strong vertical integration between customer support activities at a local level and the centralisation of R&D enables us to rapidly adapt our products to developments in the industry and with other suppliers.  Our policy of maintaining an open architecture allows our products to seamlessly integrate with the most popular broadcast technology applications.

Our R&D priority is to continue the development of our instant tapeless technology.  This is a digital modular production platform with a broad bandwidth that offers producers even more flexibility and quality when broadcasting content to viewers.

Recent efforts have focused on the fourth generation XT[2] platform and editing tools such as [IP] Director.  EVS technicians are working on the development of new applications for both OB production vans and studios, in addition to the operating methods within television stations.

The future of the audio-visual sector will be heavily influenced by changes in digital technologies which will offer viewers more choice, quality improvements and interactivity.
