EVS Media Importer is a new EVS plug-in application accessed directly from the Apple Final Cut Pro File/Import menu. It allows the Final Cut Pro editor to easily browse the clips from XT[2]+ production server, reference them in the current project bin and to import them.

  XT[2]+ clips can be located easily via an intuitive thumbnail interface or searched by EVS-generated keywords. Selected content is imported into the current Final Cut Pro project bin with a simple double-click action as either QuickTime or QuickTime Reference movies. In this case, media are immediately available for editing without having to wait for the transfer to complete. As a result the XT[2]+’s native support of the ProRes 422 and ProRes 422HQ codecs, HD clips and media can be imported without transcoding avoiding any wasted time.
