From the Stadiums: SBS & Channel9 Jointly Bring 3D Matches to Australian Homes with EVS Technology
In South Africa, a selection of matches is produced in 3-D using dedicated OB Vans. Each 3D match production uses 6 EVS XT[2] 3D under LSM control providing slow motion replays and highlights to enhance the production. A dedicated 3D feed is prepared by HBS-FIFA for international broadcasters.
The Australian Broadcasters SBS and Channel9 teamed up to offer Australian TV audiences 3D experiences of the World Cup in South Africa. Benefiting from HBS-FIFA 3D broadcast feed SBS and Channel9 are broadcasting 3D matches on a dedicated 3D channel. 3D matches will be available in live on that channel as well as repeated on a loop until the next 3D match is made available, giving fans multiple opportunities to experience the match in 3D. The technical infrastructure allowing live 3D feeds to be recorded and played out with a loop mode is based on EVS XS server under the control of IPDirector, the content management software from EVS.
